Photo Tips: Acid-Trip Effect. While this photo with an acid-trip effect deviates from our usual style, some photographers may find the effect useful when they need a snappy, colorful image for special projects. The original, standard version is shown below. To create the acid-trip version, we used onOne Software’s PhotoTools plug-in for Photoshop. After purchasing PhotoTools and downloading it online, the steps we used to produce the acid-trip version are:
1. Click on the PhotoTools icon on the top menu in Photoshop. (The icon is installed in the Photoshop menu when PhotoTools is downloaded.)
2. Click on Stylized Effects in the PhotoTools menu.
3. Double-click on Davis-Wow Acid Trip.
4. Click on Apply to bring the modified photo back onto the main page in Photoshop. (After Step 4, the photo will be in the small box on the upper-right of the screen. To move it to the main window, click on Window, then Arrange, then New Window.)
